Quilted Jacket Class with Terry Rowland

Feb 7-8, 2025 Registration open now!

In this two day class, Terry will lead us through making a quilted jacket. The class is open only to guild members until Jan 10, 2025, then we will open to the public. This is the first time Terry has taught this class so we expect the demand to be high.

Date: February 7-8, 2025

Location: Gaetz United Church

Cost: $110 for members plus supplies until Jan 10, 2025

and $150 for non-members after Jan 10, 2025 (GST included) plus supplies

Time: 9:00 AM till 4:00 PM each day

Beginners’ Quilting Class

Programs committee is investigating running a beginner quilting class in the new year. If you are interested in this class please contact Linda at ri.carver@shaw.ca before Christmas.

Special Saturday, January 25 Workshop

Sewing with Panels

Join Colleen and Shirley to look at what to do with panels. Many of us either are given or have purchased a fabric panel with good intentions.  What are you going to do with it?  This will be a group discussion about what to do to make panel quilts large enough for teens and adults, and how to make it more creative or interesting to look at.  This will include picking colours and shapes that work with the panel, cutting the panel apart and putting it together in a pleasing manner and how to quilt it.  In the afternoon, participants will pick a panel, and work out how to make a great new quilt top.  The day will be all discussion and there will be no need for machines at the workshop. 

Please bring your own lunch, and any panels that you would like to share with the group for feedback.  After the workshop, CARE will make some panels available for quilting.

Care Quilting

This group meets twice a month (second and fourth Wednesday of each month) and is always looking for helpers to quilt the quilt sandwiches they prepare.  If you are interested in contributing to the objective of the guild in this way, please reach out to Elaine Coumont.
